Layout Requests!

Hi guys! I know that this community probably seems slow as molasses sometimes. We just don't have as many people making new layouts as someplace like LJ. I think, though, maybe a little inspiration is in order.

Layout Users

Comment to this post with specific layout requests. Ask for certain features or color schemes or general themes. There isn't a guarantee that someone will choose to create a layout for you, but you never know!

Layout Makers

1. Check out the requests and see if anything sparks your creativity.

2. Would any of you be interested in doing a layout challenge? Please comment and let me know!

If this post gets a positive reaction, I may make a permanent request post with a link somewhere really obvious on the sidebar or in a sticky post.

I love the colors that I currently have my layout; I'm a fan of green, teal, and blue layouts. I never really find many green ones. :/

I used to make layouts on IJ awhile back. I can mess around on here sometime and try to see if I can do anything spiffy.

there's quite a few of us doing the layout class at [community profile] style_system, so there will be quite a few new layouts once that's complete.

I like layouts with either cool or soft/pastel colour schemes. Big fan of boxes too, for some reason, so long as they follow a grid pattern and are aligned and stuff. (Basic Boxes and Stepping Stones make me twitch a little.)

Also I thought I might add that I kind of rely heavily on Friends/Circle colours (it's just faster than looking at usernames), so I've been avoiding changing layouts because I'm never really sure if it's something layout makers take into account and worry it'll mess up the whole look.

I just wanted to note that circle colors are implemented in all official styles. It's a requirement.

I post with the caveat that I feel better when I give multiple options, not because I particularly think they should done at all, but because I don't know what other people will find inspiring.

I wouldn't mind more styles that play on minimal background patterns thing: I like what's going on in some of the new Brittle layouts in terms of patterns (even if the information at the bottom thing and the lack of titles is driving me a little spare and will probably drive me off the style I'm using, because damnit, I like to display my wittcisms.)

I also wouldn't mind more, mm, iconographic or playful headers? I'm not terribly fond of the styles ColorSides or Nouveau Oleanders et al for any number of reasons that probably boil down to being a terribly picky visual person but I love them conceptually and wish there were more.

I also like those sort of semipretentious layouts on other sites with skies and cities et al as the layouts because I can look at them forever if they don't have words on them but I'm pretty sure that's not an actual recommendation for them.

I would like something monochromeish (black, white, grey) with Courier New/monospaced type design -- very dirty-typewriter kind of look! I also like green on black -- anything reminiscent of an old VAX CRT with, like, twenty years' worth of burn-in.

(Then again, I am the person who did an entire layout around Nethack. And one based on Zork. So.)

Just wanted to let you know that I had posted up a pair of DOS themes. I'm afraid I don't really know what the old VAZ CRT looked like, but from the images I could fine the screen appeared to have a DOS feel to it.

I like layouts with easy to read text. Dark on light works best for my eyes, I guess. I also like being able to add a custom header as well as see user icons for each entry. Other than that, I'm happy with anything.

Well I'm looking for something that has summer colors and has some kind of flowers. As I really love them.

I really love my colors and layout on my lj. Could someone help out a girl who is mostly inept when it comes to this stuff? Even if it is just telling me how to do it.

My lj is http://djmicheals-fics.livejournal.com/, and I had someone walk me through it step by step to customize it.

Hi! I'd be willing to try and lend you a hand. It looks like your LJ layout is based off of Flexible Squares. There are a few layouts on DW that are similar in appearance. Basic Boxes or Compartmentalize could be good places to start. Colors don't take long to change - you can do a lot of customizing with the layout wizard. Feel free to PM me if you'd like some help!

I've gone through the lovely layouts here and found a few that look very beautiful, but don't really have the feel I'm looking for.

Dark on light for reading, but having a dark or deep background colour/base is what I'm shopping for. Sort of like SHOUT in this post here: http://dreamwidthlayouts.dreamwidth.org/18438.html
Only with a deep forest green or a very deep, dark red. I've always found that it makes for easier and more dramatic reading (to me at least) if there is a dark background with white or slightly off white posts with dark/black fonts.

The possibility of adding a header to the layout is kind of awesome as well.

I don't know anything about layout designs or even how to begin coding for one, so if anyone is at all inspired by this request? AWESOME! Otherwise I will continue to search for something that draws me in.
