Guidelines & Info

Need a pre-made Dreamwidth-specific layout for your brand new Dreamwidth journal? Look no further! [community profile] dreamwidthlayouts is your one stop shop for posting and/or discovering new layouts for use on your Dreamwidth Journal.

[ RULES | POST FORMAT | TAGS | CONTACT ]

Rules

  1. All posts must contain a layout or tutorial. No text-only posts unless pre-approved by the maintainers/moderators. Code snippets are okay, provided they are for use with Dreamwidth layouts.

  2. Layouts must be Dreamwidth-specific. Please do not re-post old LJ layouts unless you have specifically adapted them for Dreamwidth use. (E.g. posting an old Mixit layout for use with Core 1 would not be acceptable.) "Prêt-à-porter" is the community motto.

  3. Layouts must be accessible to all account levels, paid or otherwise. Money should not be a requirement for good design!

  4. Layouts must be posted in a public post, either here or in your own journal. No posting in locked posts and forcing people to add you / join your community, etc. [It is okay to post your layout in an LJ journal/community.]

  5. The "NO" list: no requests, no hotlinking, no images larger than 300px outside of a cut, no profile codes.

  6. Layout makers: Please use the form below to format your posts, and apply all applicable tags.

  7. Please respect requests for credit on behalf of the creators.

  8. This is not a help community. Individual layout makers may be able to assist you with things related to their layouts, but this community is not a place to ask for generic help on Dreamwidth layouts in general. If you need general help, try the friendly folks at [community profile] style_system.

  9. Be nice.

Post Format

As mentioned above, do not post images larger than 300px outside of a cut! Use the following template to post your layouts or snippets. You may add any additional information/instructions, but please include the following basic info and use common sense when applying cuts. (The only exception to this rule is tutorials, in which case please just use your best judgment. Tutorials should apply to Dreamwidth layouts only.)

Thank you!

It would be great if you could cross-post this to [community profile] lj_refugees - I'm sure it would be much appreciated!

I just wanted to thank you for all the effort you're putting into making this comm more functional. Having a place where you can find pretty and easy-to-install layouts was one of the few 'missing things' here on DW. So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

I was wondering if you could please add style: compartmentalize to the tags?

I started going through the posts and trying to tag them correctly as much as one can. There are a lot of posts that have dead links, would you like those reported? Or some help somehow?

eta: actually most of the styles of missing. We could also use style: practicality, style: mobility, style: venture, style: neutral good, style: trifecta, style: tectonic, style: patsy, style: planet caravan I went pretty much all the way back and I think these are all the style tags we are missing but have layouts for. Thank you.

Can we add the style: bannering? I've done two layouts in Bannering and working on more.
