I asked a little while back and got permission to make this post. Many thanks to the lovely mod!

So, my basic question is: does anyone know of a community that has profile codes available? I know they're a no-go at this comm, but my coding-fu is too weak to adapt LJ-based profile codes for DW very effectively, so I'd love a source for ones made specifically for DW.

Anyone know of any?

This gives a few results for personal layout communities, but none of them seem to have any profile codes yet.
A collective comm similar to dreamwidthlayouts for them would be very nice, though.

I think a few things are't working with the CSS on the profile pages yet, which causes codes that were made for LJ to look weird sometimes. Maybe a lot of code designers are waiting until this is fixed. I think once that changes LJ codes should work fine as well.

Indeed, things with profile codes are being sorted out by the DW team. I contacted them about it once when i joined a month or two ago and they told me so, so once it's fixed they should work normally.

I'm sorry i can't tell you where to find anythign to pretty up your profile as i haven't seen a thing, though ^^

Even just knowing they're working on the problem and that it's not just a case of different systems is a big help!

I agree a collective comm would be lovely, but as you say, that should hopefully be more feasible once the profile page code is fixed. :)

I'm new here, so please excuse if this has already been mentioned.

I discovered that if I set my display to "Lynx (light mode)", my LJ profile code works.

Huh, so it does! I never would have thought of that.

It looks even weirder in Celerity, too. Mrgle. Don't like the idea of my profile looking funny/funnier to anyone using that site scheme. Dangit. *frets*

That's really helpful! I've been searching everywhere for a comm in DW that provides profile layouts but if it's just a change of settings needed then using some made for LJ will do. ♥
